My Hgb and HCT has fallen below the normal range, 13.3 and 40.9, respectively. Last year s labs showed them to be 14.9 and 46.0, respectively. In late June 2016 began treatment for prostate cancer and received Lupron Int and Brachytherapy. Could either of those have had an impact on my Hgb and HCT?
Hello, Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic! I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
First of your Hb and HCT are very well with in normal range!! Hb of 13 is quite normal for you. Lupron and radiotherapy can affect your bone marrow and fall in hemoglobin level may be seen during the initial days of the cycle. In your case there is no such problem. Have healthy diet rich in iron containing foods. Wishing youn good health. Regards. Dr Shinas
